Air Conditioning

This is a very sophisticated area, particularly in regards to newer vehicles.  As in all area of automotive repair, new features sush as electronic climate control and individual passenger location directional cooling, are making it imperative that "Quality" repair facilities use state of the art diagnostic equipment and advanced training.

Alignments

Suspension and frame repair is what Liskey's is known for in the Mid-Michigan area.

We have three dedicated passenger car alignment machines, one heavy duty truck machine and one frame repair machine.  This, along with over 100 years of combined experience, make us one of the largest and most knowledgeable suspension repair facilities in the area.

Balancing

We use state of the art computer wheel balancing equipment to handle your tire and wheel problems, the right way.

We are also the only shop in the area that performs on the car balancing.

Brakes

Brake repair is an important part of the service here at Liskey's.  We have five dedicated bays.  Most important are the trained brake professionals that make our service exceptional.

With the new Anti-lock Braking Systems, repairing brakes involves more than just new brake shoes.  We are now diagnosing complicated computer controls.  Once again, training and highly enfineered quality parts are so important in a "Quality" repair facility.

Fluid Exchange

Fluid exchanges are a vital part of any maintenance program.  The fluids are the lifeblood of your vehicle.  They protect the engine from dirt and grime.  They keep things cool so the engine doesn't get heat damage.  They keep things lubricated so everything stays in working condition.

General Maintenance

General Maintenance is a broad term.  However, General means just that.   From batteries, to belts, to starting systems, the list could go on.

General Maintenance is anything within or on the vehicle that doesn't necessarily fall into any particular category, but affects the operation of the vehicle.  These items need attention too, because without them the car wouldn't start, go, or just plain run properly.

Oil Changes

Just like the fluid exchange, the Oil Change is a very important part of your vehicles maintenance.

Just imagine what would happen if metal began rubbing on metal.  Parts began to generate excessive heat due to extreme friction and that heat damaged the fine tuned, precisely honed components that make up our cars engines.

It would be extremely costly to replace motor after motor, when a simple yet integral part of maintenance, the Oil Change, only takes a few minutes and relatively speaking, a few dollars to keep these motors in tip top shape.

Preventative Maintenance

This is defined as something that is performed that prolongs the life of your vehicle.

From fluids, that keep things lubricated.  To filters, that keep junk out of the systems so air and fluids can move freely where they need to be.  To minute adjustments that keep everything precisely on track and in proper time.

All these services need to be performed in a timely manner or at certain mileage intervals.  Therefore, excessive wear can be limited to the best of our ability.  Wearable items will wear over time, but with proper maintenance, the best chance for their longevity is achieved.

Suspension

The suspension of your vehicle is the entire network of rods, links, linkage, shocks and struts.  It is how your vehicle rides, handles and performs.

If these parts are loose or worn they won't hold an alignment properly.  If you don't have a good alignment you will end up with uneven tire wear and possibly a poor handling car.

Tires

We've all heard the statement, "where the rubber meets the road."  To us, this is more than a casual statement.  Any tire or repair shop can tell you that, "you need new tires."  Well, to us, evaluating what you, the customer, is saying about how your car is handling and then giving your vehicle a proper inspection, is the professional way of handling a potential problem.  Tire wear patterns tell us how the rubber does meet the road.  When you say it "thumps" or it "pulls,"  this helps us in making our diagnosis.  Then our seasoned and trained technicians can offer you the best tire that meets your driving needs.  We also use state of the art computer wheel balancing equipment to handle your tire and wheel problems the right way.

Towing

Being able to provide the towing service, in house, is a huge benefit to you our customer.  It allows the customer the opportunity to know that your vehicle is being towed and serviced by the same people.

Tune Ups

This subject encompasses many, many areas, but one thing's for sure--we all know when we need one.  The vehicle doesn't start, it doesn't stop when you turn off the key, it runs rough, it has no power, etc.  Vehicles have become increasingly more sophisticated and complicated, and now they use numerous complicated operational systems, most of which are controlled electronically or by computer.

To meet these challenges, we have invested in the latest and best diagnostic equipment which our technicians use to evaluate and resolve engine problems.  But, keep in mind, the equipment only provides the data or the system path.  The technician makes the repair decisions gleaned from the data.  The technical training necessary to make these decisions must be ongoing.

Fortunately, vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, and aftermarket businesses are doing a good job of keeping repair facilities like us informed and educated.

Heavy Trucks and Motorhomes

We have a dedicated bay for our heavy vehicle customers.

From plowing, towing, and buses to large trucks.  These vehicles need heavy duty tooling to perform many basic operations because of their size and the jobs they do.  Liskey's is equipped and staffed to handle these heavy duty jobs.
